WORLD WAR 2 EVACUATION • Between1939-1945 there were 3 major evacuations in preparation of the German bombing Britain • FACT • The British evacuation began on Friday 1st September 1939 THE BLAKOUT • During the war, everyone had to cover their windows and doors at night. (before sunset) with heavy blackout curtains, cardboard or black pain • LOOK OUT IN THE BLAKOUT BOMS • From 1944 two new types of weapons were propulsion to launch a war head . used , witch had a rocket type of bombs. FACTS • German helmets were different because ours were round like a bowl • Germany dropped 300 tones of bombs • Two million houses (60% of these in London) were destroyed in the blitz. GAS ATACKS • Gas masks were used for gas atacks .For a gas atack there were a rattle for a gas atack and a alarm for a normal atack . shelters • There were 200 shelters in each streer 100 morisson shelters and 100 anderson shalters • In the shelters they had • 1. sweets-food-drink • 2.books • 3.toys • 4. bord games • 5.clothes-shoes Posters and letters • letters dear mum I want to go home .
