BLOG The Amazing Amigos [email protected] bles MATHS Looking at the things that we have been learning in maths, have a look at 2 things that you still need to get better at and practise this skill over the fortnight. You will need to show me in your maths books what it is that you have been practising. For example - if you still need to practise using different measurements, complete this in our homework books. If you still need to work on division – use arrays to help you answer some tricky questions. It can be anything from the timestable that you are stuck on – remember to write these out one at a time, or it can be using equivalent fractions…anything that your math goal might be. Task 2: Make a list of anywhere or anything that you would see decimals being used in everyday life. Eg. At Subway a roll is $5.95. English: Research some information about an animal based around their behaviour, qualities, habitats, diets, sleeping patterns. What are at least 2 things that you have enjoyed learning about our inquiry This will give you some extra time and topic, what is something that information to use for an article that will go into your magazine. You might like to include some you still want to know? pictures of your animal too. Reading Record Don’t forget to record your reading in your diary! Write the title of the book in each day, even if you just read a page, record the page number/s that you read or how long you read for. Then get mum or dad to sign your diary once a week. This is taking responsibility for your learning and also gets you into practice of using your diary every day! This is a great life skill. TASK: Ask your mum or dad, or other family members if they use a diary and how important this might be in their jobs/school etc. Write down their responses to your questions in your homework book. Why do you think it is an important skill to have/use? Focus on these skills while completing your homework Organisation: Have you set aside time to complete your homework so it is handed in on time? Presentation: Have you ruled a margin on each page? Handwriting: Have you set your work out neatly so that others can read it? Reading practice: Have you read and recorded your reading each day? Spelling practice: Have you practised your spelling? Persistence Have you given each task a red hot go? Remember if you’re not sure, don’t stay stuck, come and ask. Don’t leave it until the last minute! Your homework is due back on Friday, 31st November 2014
