Learning objectives
• Developing a long range and annual goals
• Identifying resources that will support these
goals
Why set goals ?
Goals setting provides a plan of ACTION which
is crucial to a successful Rotary year
The process include:
1. Analyzing the club’s strength and weaknesses
2. Developing goals
3. Evaluation
How would you describe an
effective goal?
An effective goal should be
SHARED – Those who will implement the goals should
help set them
MEASURABLE – A goal should be tangible to pursue
CHALLENGING – A goal should be ambitious enough to
surpass what the club has accomplished
ACHIEVABLE – Rotarians should be able to achieve the
goal with the available resources
TIME SPECIFIC – A goal should have a deadline or
timeline
How do long range annual plans work
together?
1. Long range goals should represent what you
want in 3-5 years and address elements of an
effective club ( membership, service project,
Rotary Foundation and leadership
development )
2. Annual goals will be the steps to achieving
your long range goals. They should address
each avenue of service and work to help the
club pursue the object of Rotary
