Phase 1: Emission Reductions by 2015:
• 1-3% reduction in fleet vehicle emissions
• 10-20% reduction in emissions through energy
conservation and renewable energy purchasing
• 3-5% reduction in emissions from transport, waste,
water, etc.

 Develop knowledge, respect and validation of
differing values, cultures and beliefs in
students, faculty and staff
 University Priority: is to Develop and
implement a pilot program to increase
participation in faculty, staff and student
exchange programs.

GOAL:
 Pilot a visiting faculty network diversity
program in STEM centered on the following two
areas:
 Sustainability
Nanotechnology and Materials Science
 Will focus on those departments that have key
relationships to these areas of focus and also
currently face staffing issues due to enrollment
growth

GOAL
 Establish partnerships with one or more Historically
Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)
 Recruit cohorts of minority scholars will provide
social support
 Scholars may include:
 Post-doctoral students
 Visiting Professors
 ABD Doctoral students
 Serve 50% time conducting research
 Serve 50% time teaching.
 The teacher/scholars will be selected because
their
research interests are already aligned with
the goals
of the academic department.
Long-Term Goals:
 Create a research center where visiting minority
teacher/scholars can conduct research.
 Expand to other Stout colleges and programs
 Identify partner schools in new HBCUs, Hispanic
Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges or
other appropriate institutions.
 Faculty from UW-Stout can exchange with partner
schools to teach and conduct research.
 Students from UW-Stout and Partner schools can
exchange for study
