Matthew 24:3,4
“Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to
Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And
what [will be] the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the
age?”
Matthew 24:5-7
“And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one
deceives you.”
“For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and
will deceive many..
And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are
not troubled; for all [these things] must come to pass, but the
end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against
kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and
earthquakes in various places.”
Matthew 24:20-24
“And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the
beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for
the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here [is] the Christ!' or 'There!' do not
believe [it].
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and
wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
“I have seen the most costly structures in
buildings erected and supposed to be
fireproof, and just as Sodom perished in the
flames of God's vengeance so will these
proud structures become ashes. . . . The
flattering monuments of men's greatness will
be crumbled in the dust even before the last
great destruction comes upon the world.”-Selected Messages, book 3, p. 418 (1901).
“Men will continue to erect expensive buildings,
costing millions of money. Special attention
will be called to their architectural beauty and
the firmness and solidity with which they are
constructed, but the Lord has instructed me
that despite the unusual firmness and
expensive display, these buildings will share
the fate of the temple in Jerusalem.--Ellen G.
White Comments, Seventh-day Adventist
Bible Commentary, vol. 5, p. 1098 (1906).”
“On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in
the night season called upon to behold buildings
rising story after story toward heaven. These
buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and
they were erected to glorify their owners and
builders. . . .”
“The scene that next passed before me was an
alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and
supposedly fireproof buildings and said: "They
are perfectly safe." But these buildings were
consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines
could do nothing to stay the destruction. The
firemen were unable to operate the engines.”

“It is no time now for God's people to be fixing their
affections or laying up their treasure in the world.
The time is not far distant, when, like the early
disciples, we shall be forced to seek a refuge in
desolate and solitary places. As the siege of
Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for
flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption
of power on the part of our nation, in the decree
enforcing the papal sabbath, will be a warning to
us. It will then be time to leave the large cities,
preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired
homes in secluded places among the mountains.
And now, instead of seeking expensive dwellings
here, we should be preparing to move to a better
country, even a heavenly. Instead of spending our
means in self-gratification, we should be studying
to economize.”-- Testimonies, vol. 5, pp. 464, 465.

“When Protestantism shall stretch her hand
across the gulf to grasp the hand of the
Roman power, when she shall reach over the
abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when,
under the influence of this threefold union,
our country shall repudiate every principle of
its Constitution as a Protestant and
republican government, and shall make
provision for the propagation of papal
falsehoods and delusions, then we may know
that the time has come for the marvelous
working of Satan and that the end is near..”

“As the movement for Sunday enforcement
becomes more bold and decided, the law will
be invoked against commandment keepers.
They will be threatened with fines and
imprisonment, and some will be offered
positions of influence, and other rewards and
advantages, as inducements to renounce
their faith. But their steadfast answer is:
"Show us from the word of God our error"-the same plea that was made by Luther
under similar circumstances. Those who are
arraigned before the courts make a strong
vindication of the truth, and some who hear
them are led to take their stand to keep all the
commandments of God. Thus light will be
brought before thousands who otherwise
“Those who honor the Bible Sabbath will
be denounced as enemies of law and
order, as breaking down the moral
restraints of society, causing anarchy
and corruption, and calling down the
judgments of God upon the earth.”

"And He [Christ] gave unto Moses, when He
had made an end of communing with him
upon Mount Sinai, two tables of testimony,
tables of stone, written with the finger of
God." (Exodus 31:18.) Nothing written on
those tables could be blotted out. The
precious record of the law was placed in the
ark of the testament and is still there, safely
hidden from the human family. But in God's
appointed time He will bring forth these tables
of stone to be a testimony to all the world
against the disregard of His commandments
and against the idolatrous worship of a
counterfeit Sabbath.”
Daniel 12:1
“And at that time shall Michael stand up,
the great prince which standeth for the
children of thy people: and there shall
be a time of trouble, such as never was
since there was a nation [even] to that
same time: and at that time thy people
shall be delivered, every one that shall
be found written in the book.”
“In that fearful time the righteous must live
in the sight of a holy God without an
intercessor.” GC 614
“Those who delay a preparation for the
day of God cannot obtain it in the time
of trouble or at any subsequent time.
The case of all such is hopeless.” GC

“All who will lay hold of God's promises,
as he did, and be as earnest and
persevering as he was, will succeed as
he succeeded. Those who are unwilling
to deny self, to agonize before God, to
pray long and earnestly for His blessing,
will not obtain it. Wrestling with God-how few know what it is!” GC 621
“As the crowning act in the great drama of
deception, Satan himself will personate
Christ.” GC 624
Revelation 16:1-4
“And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying
to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out
the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.”
“And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the
earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore
upon the men which had the mark of the beast,
and [upon] them which worshipped his image.”
“And the second angel poured out his vial upon the
sea; and it became as the blood of a dead [man]:
and every living soul died in the sea.”
And the third angel poured out his vial upon the
rivers and fountains of waters; and they became
blood.”
Revelation 16:8-10
“And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon
the sun; and power was given unto him to
scorch men with fire.”
“And men were scorched with great heat, and
blasphemed the name of God, which hath
power over these plagues: and they repented
not to give him glory.”
“And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the
seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of
darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for
pain…”
Revelation 16:11-12
“And blasphemed the God of heaven because
of their pains and their sores, and repented
not of their deeds.”
“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon
the great river Euphrates; and the water
thereof was dried up, that the way of the
kings of the east might be prepared.”
Revelation 16:17-18
“And the seventh angel poured out his vial into
the air; and there came a great voice out of
the temple of heaven, from the throne,
saying, It is done.”
“And there were voices, and thunders, and
lightnings; and there was a great earthquake,
such as was not since men were upon the
earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so
great.”
“These plagues are not universal, or the
inhabitants of the earth would be wholly
cut off. Yet they will be the most awful
scourges that have ever been known to
mortals.” GC 629
“The people of God will not be free from
suffering; but while persecuted and
distressed, while they endure privation and
suffer for want of food they will not be left to
perish. That God who cared for Elijah will not
pass by one of His self-sacrificing children.
He who numbers the hairs of their head will
care for them, and in time of famine they shall
be satisfied. While the wicked are dying from
hunger and pestilence, angels will shield the
righteous and supply their wants.” GC 629
Isaiah 33:16
"Bread shall be given him; his waters shall
be sure."
Isaiah 41:17
“When the poor and needy seek water,
and there is none, and their tongue
faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear
them, I the God of Israel will not forsake
them.”
Daniel 12:2
“And many of them that sleep in the dust
of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame
[and] everlasting contempt.”
1 Thessalonians 4:17
“Then we which are alive [and] remain
shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
Revelation 1:7
“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and
every eye shall see him, and they
[also] which pierced him: and all
kindreds of the earth shall wail because
of him. Even so, Amen.”
Revelation 6:16
“And said to the mountains and rocks,
Fall on us, and hide us from the face of
him that sitteth on the throne, and from
the wrath of the Lamb”
“Those who derided His claim to be the Son of
God are speechless now. There is the
haughty Herod who jeered at His royal title
and bade the mocking soldiers crown Him
king. There are the very men who with
impious hands placed upon His form the
purple robe, upon His sacred brow the thorny
crown, and in His unresisting hand the mimic
scepter, and bowed before Him in
blasphemous mockery. The men who smote
and spit upon the Prince of life now turn from
His piercing gaze and seek to flee from the
overpowering glory of His presence. Those
who drove the nails through His hands and
feet, the soldier who pierced His side, behold
these marks with terror and remorse.” GC
1 Corinthians 15:52,53
“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the
last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and
we shall be changed.”
“For this corruptible must put on incorruption,
and this mortal [must] put on immortality.” No
more blemished and deformities. We will
have new incorruptible bodies.”
Revelation 20:5
"The rest of the dead lived not again until
the thousand years were finished."
Isaiah 24:22
"They shall be gathered together, as
prisoners are gathered in the pit, and
shall be shut up in the prison, and after
many days shall they be visited."
“As His feet touch the mountain, it parts
asunder, and becomes a very great plain, and
is prepared for the reception of the Holy City
in which is the paradise of God, the Garden of
Eden, which was taken up after man's
transgression. Now it descends with the City,
more beautiful, and gloriously adorned than
when removed from the earth. The City of
God comes down and settles upon the mighty
plain prepared for it.”--3SG 83, 84
