end to end .Find the surface area of the

Surface area of the cuboid =
2[lb+bh+hl ] cm²
= 2[15*5 +5*5 +15*5 ] cm²

=2[175 ] cm²
=350 cm² .
Example of volume of cuboid :Q2 . Two cubes each of volume 64
cm² are joined end to end . Find
the volume of the resulting cuboid .

Let the length of each edge of the
cube of volume 64 cm² be xcm .

Volume = 64 cm³
= x³ =64
= x = ³√64
= x = 4 cm .
l=Length =(4 + 4 ) cm = 8cm .

h=height =4cm .

Q3 . A room has length 4m , breadth 2.5
m and height 3m . Find the lateral surface
area of four walls .
Sol :- l=Length =4m ,

h=Height =3m .
lateral surface area = 2(l+b) h
=2(4+2.5) 3

:- a=edge=1.25m

=6(1.25)²
=6× 1.5625
=9.3750m².
*Example of Volume of cube :*Q2. A child playing with building blocks
,which are of the shape of cubes ,has built
a structure . If the edge of each cube is
3cm , find the volume of the structure
built by the child .
Volume of each cube
=edge×edge×edge
= 3×3×3cm³
= 27cm³
Number of cubes in the structure
=15
Therefore ,Volume of the structure
=27×15cm³
=405cm³

with a 3.5cm radius ?

*Therefore, volume of 14pillars =
volume of each cylinder ×14

=8.8/7×14m³

=17.6m³
*So, 14 pillars would need 17.6m³ of
concrete mixture.
