Problem: U.S. Military not ready for
non-linear battlefield (NLB) combat
dominated by High Explosives (HE);
is not ready to rapidly deploy nor
defend U.S. borders
Effect: to date 1,400 dead from bullets,
bombs, grenades; 5,000 maimed for
life from same; strategic defeat in Iraq
looming because cannot protect selves
much less create societal security, U.S.
Borders open to WMD terror attacks
Cause: BS Garrison SUV & Tent City Mentality
* Institutional U.S. military forgot since Vietnam what NLB was like;
embraced wide-spread Humvee SUV use expecting we’d pick/chose only
linear wars to fight where it’d be safe to get by in unarmored, unarmed trucks
* Lives in easily targeted Civilian Buildings, brass think are CEOs and junior
executives who do not have to work and get dirty during daily CONUS
garrison life during months leading up to war time OCONUS deployment
* Lesser ranks mows lawns, polishes floors and other busywork to glee of
snob egomaniacs focused on self-advancement not combat readiness
* Brass wants to do same when overseas via $BiLLONS of out-sourced
civilian buildings in elaborate FOBs mimicking CONUS garrison life; or
former dictator palaces: tactically unsound and unwise
* Doesn’t dress for war each day, spends day in snobby make-believe spit ‘n
polish outward appearances
* Static; not mobile; doesn’t want to fight, wastes time on non-sense
* Equipment not ready to ship, brass wants to drag feet, says need masses
of troops in hopes politicians will not deploy them
*Time wastage break-bulk tentage into trucks; no protection in combat when
erected
*Some Narcissists boast all they need is rubber-tired SUV trucks and live in
a poncho cannot sustain selves in extreme weathers, easily killed in war
Breaking the Garrison Phalanx?
Colonel Douglas Macgregor and others propose in books like
“Breaking the Phalanx”, “Transformation under Fire”,
“Air-Mech-Strike” the necessity to CO-LOCATE desirable
elements together for all-arms effects.. But you’ll notice all-out,
co-location only happens for the first time when you are in some
wide-open desert during time of war. Why? Take Fort Bragg. 35th
Signal is off Reilly road behind Burger King. 20th Engineers are
down Gruber road adjacent to them but not in practical walking
distance. Way down the road is Simmons Army air field where the
Army aviators are. The USAF is in their own fenced base at Pope
AFB adjacent, yes but still miles away. The 82d Airborne is again
miles down Gruber road....etc.
THIS IS NOT CO-LOCATION!
Each is off in their own little world.
So even if you got Macgregor/AMS type units built, AS LONG AS THEY ARE
PHYSICALLY NOT CO-LOCATED SO THE PEOPLE INVOLVED HAVE TO ACTUALLY
LIVE AND TRAIN TOGETHER there will be no synergism. This is why we must cut the
"gordian knot" of garrison bullshit once and for all!
No more buildings!
Get everyone out of these BS buildings and put them and EVERYTHING THEY OWN
into ISO container Battle Boxes and plop them down onto a huge piece of training
ground where THEY MUST LIVE AND TRAIN TOGETHER. EVERY DAMN DAY
everyone puts ALL of their combat gear on and trains instead of Beetle Baily garrison
horseshit.
For Army Aviators, no more of their BS lying excuses why they cannot co-locate when
they have helicopters that can take off and land vertically (V/TOL). We put their
helicopters on trailers and they damn well better start being there with the rest of us. If
their overly complex helos need too much pampering, we get them armored
crop-duster fixed-wing aircraft that can fly 24/7/365 and move by trailers. The Stukas
and Storches of WW2 didn't need pampered air bases far from the maneuver troops.

Solution: ISO Container “Battle Boxes”
(BBs)
U.S. Army uniquely has more than enough ground
motor vehicles to deliver hard-shell boxes to war
zones since--it already delivers same as orphaned
vanilla supply carriers--why not use them as
hardened-able battle positions when emptied and
owned by every unit as their pre-war housing
and ready-to-deploy, pre-loaded re-usable
war means and adapt correctly to both the earth
environment and the battlefield threats? Units can
self-deliver their own BBs using the motor vehicles
they already own via Walker’s ANT-ISO trailers.
Battle Boxes = Live same way as you Fight
* No more building lawn care mentalities
* BBs arranged in defensive perimeter on Army post
* Troops drive POVs thru Fortified checkpoints
wearing BDUs each morning to “work”
* After parking POVs, man BBs
* Stand To! Alert @0800 hours weapons mounted
on BBs and in hand from lockers within BBs
*No standing formations; landline by squads
* Training occurs until 1600 then troops depart and
get full 8 hours sleep/family life
* FTXs: BBs will be moved and emplaced in notional
FOB on post for around-the-clock operations
Civilians live in Buildings; Soldiers live in
Battle Boxes!
* There is no “motor pool”: unit ground motor vehicles
are in tactical mode around simulated defensive
perimeter or INSIDE BBs in the unit area climate
protected for maintenance and prevention of decay
* Soldiers go to “war” each day no more garrison BS
* ALL Go-to-War TA-50, night vision devices in BBs
ready-to-use (they use it daily) and ready for war no
more garrison BS climate of keeping things locked up
in vaults and discovering them when mobilized for war
hand/eye coordination skills at high levels from first
battles
Fort-to-Port: Move to SPOD or APOD
* Static civilian-style buildings only used to store unit
histories, awards, records to reconstitute with new
people if wiped out in combat
* BBs as-is driven by unit using organic vehicles to air or
sea port of debarkation IMMEDIATELY
* Only things needed will be to draw ammunition miniboxes to fit inside BBs, top off fuel in organic vehicles
*BBs loaded into container ships or on top of RO-RO
ships
*Unit ground motor vehicles roll onto ships or placed in
BBs, too
Port-to-Port SPOD/APOD to SPOE/APOE
* Soldiers parachute jump (airdrop) or airland to meet up
with their air or sea delivered BBs and ground motor
vehicles which should be tracked Armored Fighting
Vehicles (TAFVs) as minimum armored mobility
standard on NLB
Port-to-Foxhole: to Assembly Areas
* Unit drives everything they own to assembly areas
that will be used to launch attacks into enemy
nation-state NOT an underclass “support” unit
Foxhole-to-Foxhole not palaces: Assembly
Areas to Nation-State War completion
* BBs are dropped off at assembly areas not unlike how
rucksacks are dropped prior to a attack an enemy.
* Maneuver units defeat enemy nation-state in TAFVs
via 3D and 2D air-ground maneuver
* Upon nation-state war completion, maneuver units
return back across border to AAs to wait transportation
back to USA or:
* Warfighting “sustainment” units shuttle their BBs
forward to enable Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) to
be created for an occupation to occur
Sub-National Conflict
* BBs are formed into Forward Operating Bases (FOBs)
to fully climate and enemy protect Soldiers to enable security
operations to occur
* Soldiers DO NOT live in former dictator and civilian buildings
that do not belong to them and not incite wrath of populace to
turn against us; $B in one-time contractor fees for tactically
vulnerable buildings pays for re-usable BBs good for next war,
and the next, and the next; do we want to do this right or not?
* Troops in BBs arranged along Main Supply Routes (MSRs) with
earth-filled wall check points to insure troops can be resupplied
and sustainment units not ambushed by enemy road/car/truck
bombs
* Minimal U.S. presence in-country, respond only as needed by
mobile TAFV battle groups as needed by new government
*Civilians know U.S. presence is temporary but not vulnerable
fools
Homeland Defense
* There is no more “Garrison, Peacetime Army” and a hurriedly
thrown together “War-time Army”. There is ONLY THE GO-TOWAR ARMY.
* Any training area where Soldiers can operate tracked armored
fighting vehicles x-country and shoot weapons live fire without
any restrictions at all, no ecological fears as an “Army Post”.
They come to work dressed for COMBAT, they go home each
night to live real, not quasi-civilian lives. War is War, civilian life is
civilian life, there is no blurred realities. There is no “garrison”
and no “field” every day is in the field with Battle Boxes getting
ready for combat not parade grounds.
* The entire “Fort Gavin” composed of BBs can deploy itself to
say the border areas of the U.S. and immediately begin patrolling
to stop drug and terrorist crossings; the Army is 100% mobile
