Introduction
One day while sitting in your classroom, an
alien suddenly appears before you and
your teacher!
 Can we help the alien understand what the
five senses are and what we use them for?
 We will explain the five senses to so he can
go back and share with his alien friends
what he learned.
Task

The alien would like to take some
information back to outer space. He
would like to explain to the other aliens
what they are missing out on by not having
the five senses. You will need to create a
picture of an alien to show what parts they
need for their five senses. You will need to
write a page of a book which will be made
into a class book.
Process


First we will investigate the five senses –
What do we use our mouth, nose, ears,
hands and eyes for?
Next we will design an alien
creature. Draw an alien on a piece of
construction paper. Be sure to include the
five parts that are needed to use our five
senses.
Process (Cont.)



Now you will be divided into groups of five. As a group
you will need to pick one of the five senses, so that each
of you will be writing about a different sense
Next, you will need to write your page for the class
book. Your book page needs to have a complete sentence
and a picture that goes along with your sentence. You
will start your sentences :
With my ______, I can see (taste, hear, etc)
__________.
And finally you will present the items you created that
show the five senses and the parts of the body that are
needed.
