Grants.gov registration/authentication processes may take 7 days!
PAGE 24
Getting Started: Registrations
Organization Registration Checklist
•
Preparing your organization:


Verify your organization has received their unique DUNS number.

Notify the appropriate internal authorizer, the E-business Point of
Contact (E-Biz POC), of your plans to be designated as an
Authorized Organization Representative (AOR). The E-Biz POC
will need to have the DUNS number and MPIN to access the E-Biz
POC portal on Grants.gov.
Verify your organization has registered with the Central Contractor
Registry (CCR).
**It’s important to complete these steps in a timely manner. If your
organization has not completed or is missing information obtained
through the above registrations, the time needed to completely and
successfully register and submit using Grants.gov will increase.
PAGE 25
Who is the AOR?
•
Every organization has a different organizational structure or
hierarchy. The Authorized Organization Representative (AOR)
is typically the person who would have signatory authority if the
organization were submitting a paper application. Internal
organizational policies and procedures may determine who is an
organization’s AOR. AORs can range from executive level
management or grant writing personnel to administrators.
How do you become an AOR?
•
AORs are approved by the organization’s E-business Point of
Contact.

Visit https://apply.grants.gov/GrantsgovRegister

Notify the appropriate internal authorizer, the E-business Point of
Contact (E-Biz POC), that you have submitted the AOR request
and need approval. An email from Grants.gov will be sent to the EBiz POC notifying them of the request and their required approval.
A complete and successful registration may take as few as 2
business days if the organization has a DUNS number, is
registered with the CCR and the E-Biz POC responds to the AOR
approval email promptly.

More important tips
•
PureEdge® download
Network privileges may not allow all users to download the required
software application to their personal work station. Be sure to contact
your network administrator for assistance. The latest version of
PureEdge is currently available for download and previous Grants.gov
users need to download the latest version.
•
Ask about your system requirements
Certain networks and firewalls may prevent you from sending a file over
a certain size limit. Be sure to inquire as to the size limit your network
allows. Size limitations can and will slow down the transmission of your
application.
