Work the problem and find the answer. 2. Write your answer in the answer boxes at the top of the grid. •Print your answer with the first digit in the left answer box. Do NOT leave a blank answer box in the middle of an answer. •Be sure to write a decimal point or fraction bar in the answer box if it is a part of the answer. How to Complete the Response Grids 3. Fill in a bubble under each box in which you wrote your answer. • Fill in one and ONLY one bubble for each box. Do NOT fill in a bubble under an unused box. •Fill each bubble by making a solid black mark that completely fills the circle. •You MUST fill in the bubbles accurately to receive credit for your answer. How to complete a negative grid • No numbers are placed in the 1st column. • If the answer is not negative, Do NOT bubble in the 1st column. Leave it blank. • If the answer is negative, print only a negative sign in the 1st column. After the 1st column fill in a bubble under each box in which you wrote your answer. • Fill in one and ONLY one bubble for each box. • Do NOT fill in a bubble under an unused box. • Fill each bubble by making a solid black mark that completely fills the circle. • You MUST fill in the bubbles accurate to receive credit for your answer. Simplifying and Rounding Issues Simplifying--- We recommend: Do not simplify fractions UNLESS the directions tell you to simplify to lowest terms OR if the answer doesn’t fit in the grid unless you simplify it. Rounding--- We recommend: Don’t round UNLESS the directions tell you to do so. Gridding a Whole Number 27 + 33 = 60 60 60 or Gridding a Decimal . 87 5 0 . 87 5 or Gridding a Fraction 3/5 3 5 What to do with a mixed number... You can NOT write a mixed number in an answer grid. 1 If your answer is a mixed number Ex: y6 you must 4 convert it to: 6 . 2 5 / 4 2 5 or Be aware…………………… incorrect 6 1 /4 Gridding Percents What percent of 100 is 9? Answer: 9% incorrect 9 . 09 incorrect 9 / 1 00 Gridding Repeating Decimals……..
