ATOMOS (Advanced Technology to Optimise Maritime
Operational Safety)
The project was established on Danish initiative
back in 1992. Logimatic was one of the leading
partners and defined the “draft” work program
Main objective: To make the EU fleet more competitive
by optimum use of modern technology and consequent
reduction of crew

Total cost of ATOMOS about 21 mio. €. EU
contribution about 11 mio €.
In total 14 partners from 8 countries have participated
The project has been extended 4 times and ATOMOS
will end by April 2003.
The end result will be a full scale
implementation of the ATOMOS
concept on a Swedish icebreaker
