The Seed Promise
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises
made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many,
but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ.
(Galatians 3:16 NKJV)

The Need for a Promise
 Sin and Death
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of
the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day
that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
(Genesis 2:16-17 KJV)
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and
death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because
all sinned–
(Romans 5:12 NKJV)

God Gives the Promise
And Jehovah God said unto the serpent, Because thou
hast done this, cursed art thou above all cattle, and
above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt
thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and
between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy
head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

To a land that I will show you. I will
make you a great nation; I will bless

Promises to Abram Fulfilled in Christ
Therefore know that only those who are of faith are
sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that
God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the
gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the
nations shall be blessed."
(Galatians 3:7-8 NKJV)

Jesus: Lion of Judah
Tribe of Judah
Judah is a lion's whelp; From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He
bows down, he lies down as a lion; And as a lion, who shall rouse him?
The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his
feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.

Jacob has 12 Sons – 12 Tribes of Israel

Birth of Moses and the Exodus
Mount Sinai and the Law of Moses
The Land of Canaan
The Law of Moses Guides Israel
Moses Points to Christ
 The LORD your God will raise up for you a
Prophet like me from your midst, from your
brethren. Him you shall hear.
(Deuteronomy 18:15 NKJV)
Christ = The New Law Giver
The Law Points to Christ
What purpose then does the law serve? It was added
because of transgressions, till the Seed (Christ)
should come to whom the promise was made; and it
was appointed through angels by the hand of a
mediator (Moses).
(Galatians 3:19 NKJV)
The Land of Israel Points to Christ
1. Israel established to bring
forth the Messiah.
2. Israel to be a light to the
Nations.
3. Israel established so true
worship could be established
King David Points to Christ
God says to David:
"When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I
will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body,
and I will establish his kingdom. "He shall build a house for My
name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
(2 Samuel 7:12-13 NKJV)
Jesus now sits on David’s Throne!
Acts 2:34
The Prophets Point to Christ
Behold, the days are
coming," says the LORD,
"That I will raise to David a
Branch of righteousness; A
King shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and
righteousness in the earth.
(Jeremiah 23:5 NKJV)
The Jews Reject Christ
The Jews rejected Jesus and refused to give up the Law of Moses
Christian Age
Mosaic Age
Law of Christ
Law of Moses
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be
saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according
to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going
about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves
unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for
righteousness to every one that believeth.
(Romans 10:1-4 KJV)
The Law was to be Temporary
Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ,
that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has
come, we are no longer under a tutor.
(Galatians 3:24-25 NKJV)
The Law Brought Mankind To The Master
Dependence on Law Will Not Justify
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse;
for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all
things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.
(Galatians 3:10 NKJV)
Justification by Law Alone Requires
Perfection
Obedient Faith Justifies




Faith in God
Faith that is obedient
Faith that is active
Faith like that of Abraham
But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is
evident, for "the just shall live by faith."
(Galatians 3:11 NKJV, Habakkuk 2:4)
Those of Faith are the Seed of
Abraham
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ
Jesus . . . And if you are Christ's, then you are
Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the
promise.
(Galatians 3:26-29 NKJV)
The Promise is to All
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having
become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone
who hangs on a tree"), that the blessing of Abraham might
come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might
receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
(Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV)
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor
free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one
in Christ Jesus.
