Seasons
Seasons
• There are 4 seasons in a year:
summer, autumn, winter and spring
• Each season lasts about 3 months.
Summer- From the 21st of June to the 23rd of
September
Autumn - From the 23rd of September to the 21st
of December
Winter - From the 21st of December to the 21st of
March
Spring - From the 21st of March to the 21st of June
• Summer is the warmest season and winter the
coldest one. Autumn and spring are in
between.
• Autumn is usually rainy and windy, spring is
warm and rainy, summer is sunny and winter
is rainy, snowy and cold.
Why are there 4 seasons?
• The Earth orbits around the Sun
• It takes one year to complete one round
• The angle of the Sun’s rays creates different
temperatures across the Earth
Do seasons happen at the same time
all over the world?
• No, they don’t.
• The Earth is divided by an imaginary line
called the Equator. When it’s winter in the
northren hemisphere, it’s summer in the
southern hemisphere and when it’s winter in
the southern hemisphere it’s summer in the
northern.
