Luxembourg 1.Construction of Europe. The E.U is an union of countries. It’s composed of 27 countries. It was created after the second Word War to create a pacified zone. Many statesmen founded the E.U. Luxembourg is a part of the Schengen Agreement. This country is in E.U since 1952. And since 1999, it has used euros. 2.Introduction of the country. • Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in Europe. But it has approximately 524 853 people in 2012. • The Luxembourg is at the North-East of the Europe and has for capital Luxembourg city. There is a lot of banks and it’s also a tax heaven. The border between Luxembourg and Germany is formed by three rivers : The Moselle, the Sauer and the Our. • The language : The Luxembourgish, the national language, looks like the German. The German is the main foreign language for most Luxembourgers and it’s used in the medias. The French is the administrative language. • Flag : • Coat of arms : • « Ons Heemecht » (Our Homeland), is the national anthem of this country, since 1895. 3.Customs • The Luxemburgers eat a lot of pastries (tart cheese). The traditional celebrations • The national day : In the Capital, the celebrations begin with a torchlit procession in front of the palace.
