New C lean R oom E nergy O ptimization (CREO) Design Software released globally by Camfil Farr

— Register Today for the CREO Training Webinar —

Camfil Farr, the world’s leading provider of sustainable air filters and clean air solutions has just released the new CREO (Clean Room design & Energy Optimization) manual. The CREO manual outlines the basic theories and calculations for the new software while also providing valuable historic and current information on clean room standards and guidelines commonly utilized in the Life Science & Microelectronic industries.

Another industry first — The CREO software is essentially a marriage of Camfil Farr’s well known and frequently used LCC (Life Cycle Cost) Green software along with its clean room design software. The two software programs combine to make a robust planning tool that identifies the best air filter options to optimize clean room filtration and energy consumption. Taking into account the latest international industry norms, the tool also generates complete filter and hardware specifications in a simple, easy-to-use format. The software is ideally suited for A&E companies and end users who operate clean rooms in order to optimize their air filtration needs. Access to the proprietary CREO software is possible when attendance of certified training has been completed such as this webinar in addition to access approved through a local Camfil Farr office or an authorized Camfil Farr representative.

Two recent Case Histories from General Aire Systems

Clean air solutions

Case History 1: Integra Life Sciences

• • • • • • • Owner: Integra Life Sciences, Plainsboro, NJ Construction Manager: Javan Engineering, Fort Washington, PA MEP Firm: Gannet Fleming, Mount Laurel, NJ Mechanical Contractor: M. Davis, Wilmington, DE Project Description: An existing ISO 8 (Class 100k) clean room facility needed to be renovated and re-certified. The owner had been familiar with CREO as introduced by General Aire. General Aire was requested to assist Gannet Fleming to optimize airflow and support their design. G. Rossi worked with the engineering manager and engineers at Gannet Fleming and verified air changes and quantity of hoods for each individual room and corridor. Resulting Sale Pre-Purchased by Owner: 65 Pharmaseal Hood Bodies and panel filters. General Aire added EC motor and fan technology to tie into the existing building management system.

Additional Products Sold: Ceiling grid, clean room light fixtures, ceiling panel, construction supervision services, start-up services Clean air solutions

Case History 2: Proctor & Gamble

• • • • • • • Owner: Proctor and Gamble: Baltimore, MD Clean Room Integrator: Nicos Group, Norwood, NJ / NICOMAC, Milano, Italy MEP Firm: Spears / Votta Associates, Baltimore, MD Project Description: P&G was upgrading an existing Q.C. lab. They wanted to have a clean room enclosed with glass panel walls. Nicos Group was selected as the clean room integrator. The guide specification from the MEP firm called for a 80% ceiling coverage for an ISO 7 (Class 10k) space. General Aire provided CREO models for two rooms showing the appropriate ceiling coverage during the submittal process. Resulting Sale: Purchase by Nicos Group: 20 Slim Line terminal HEPA filters.

Additional Products Sold: Ceiling grid, clean room light fixtures, ceiling panels, supervision and installation services.

As a result of the successful project, General Aire has been invited to be on the team for an upcoming renovation of 40,000 sq. ft. of clean space manufacturing.
