G.A.T.E. Program

● Educational program that recognizes the talents, strengths, and abilities of each student ● Rigorous and challenging opportunities ● Differentiated learning experiences in varied environments ● Qualified teachers who have participated in high-quality professional experiences

G.A.T.E. Identification

CST scores ● Advanced level in ELA and Math for 2 consecutive years ● Additional requirements Students identified as GATE in another district ● Send me a copy of GATE notification letter or qualifying test scores ● District will sent letter regarding your student's GATE status

Additional Information

● Many students are high level, although not all students will qualify for GATE ● GATE does not determine Honors placement in high school or college acceptances.

● Students will need to test for Honors courses in high school.

Enrichment Classes

Beginning Japanese ● Students will learn basic conversational skills and vocabulary, as well as writing (6 weeks).

Bridge Design and Engineering ● Students will learn about structures, business, and marketing strategies in a 10 week bridge-building competition.

Computer Coding

G.A.T.E. Class Enrollment

● Students listen for announcements about GATE classes ● See me to pick up GATE class sign-up forms ● Upperclassmen are given priority in classes
