NST - Our educational travel company

We have booked this tour through leading educational travel company, NST. We’ll benefit from their knowledge and experience in arranging school tours, as well as the 24 hour assistance they offer should we need their support whilst we are away.

Tour objectives

On our tour, students will: • Get the chance to visit our capital city and see all the major tourist attractions • Have a chance to see Matilda the Musical • Develop independence •Have a tour around the BBC Broadcasting house •Visit famous museums

Tour overview

We will depart from school by coach on Friday 6 th February.

5 members of staff will be attending – myself, Mrs O’Neill, Mrs Thompson, Mr Sloane, and the Year 5 teacher.

We will stay at the Meininger Hotel in Hyde Park for 1 night, and will return home on Saturday 7 th February by coach.

Our accommodation

We will be staying at the Meininger Hotel. It is a 4 star hotel, which used to be Baden-Powell House.

It specialises in group visits, and is frequently used by NST.

Even the Queen has visited it!

It has the following facilities: • 24-hour reception • Large lobby • Coffee bar • Dining room • Large terrace • Luggage room • Individual locker • Vending machine • Lift • Non smoking hotel • Access to rooms with secure keycard system • Introductory welcome talk covering the services and facilities for school groups

The student rooms have the following: • 4-6 bedded rooms & 10-12 bedded rooms (bunk beds) • En-suite facilities (2 bathroom pods for rooms with 12 students, 1 bathroom pod for all other room types) • Air conditioning • TV • Towels and bedding are provided

Our meal arrangements

The trip is full board, so the evening meal on the Friday, breakfast on the Saturday, lunch on the Saturday, and tea on the way back. It is likely a packed lunch will be needed on the Friday.

If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let me know well in advance.

What’s included in the price?

Our tour cost of £190 per child includes: • Return transportation by executive coach • 1 night’s accommodation • Travel insurance •Food as previously explained • Visits and entrance fees •Tickets to Matilda in the Upper Circle • Guide • Insurance and 24 hour assistance

Travel tips - Money

The children will be able to take some spending money. We will issue guidance as to the suggested maximum amount nearer the trip date.

Travel tips - Packing

This will be sent out nearer the time. However, school uniform will not be required, neither will any special clothing!

Next steps

First deposit -

If you wish to join this visit, can you please let me know by Friday 20 th June. We will require an initial £30 deposit to secure your booking at this stage.

Second deposit -

We will require your second deposit of £70 by the end of September.

Third deposit

– We will require your third deposit of £70 by the beginning of the Christmas holidays.

Final payment -

The balance of the visit will need to be paid in full by the end of January with a final payment of £20.
