Contents of the program
1. Management in Libraries and Information Centers
(statistics, scientometrics, consortia, informetrics
and copyright)
2. ICT in libraries and information centers (networks,
image processing, metadata harvesting, OAI)

databases, citation searching, open access)

ABCD, Greenstone, DSpace, Institutional
Repositories)

How to improve the organization of the
program?
• Include pre-test/ post-test which is always a part
of a training programme
for evaluation;
• Provide the complete hand-outs at the beginning
of the programme;
• If possible, provide a better route going to the
Etterbeek campus. Tram is possible (line 23, 24
or 25) going to/from Petillion. (walking is tiring!)
Or avoid having class in Etterbeek 
• Forgot to advice us about the one-month public
transport ticket (STIB/MIVB).
Strong points of the organization of
the program
• Project Assistant (Alex Coppens)
always sends e-mail to remind the
group of various activities and
schedule;
• Continuously update the online
program;
• More time for assignments (lecture free
day) 
Academic contents: best
• Exploring web of science, journal citation
reports, library statistics, informetrics
• Learning how to use Greenstone and ISIS
(ABCD)
• Participation in an international conference (30th
IATUL in Leuven)
-our own libraries become
a member of IATUL for
one year 
Academic contents: worst
Not really worst, they just need some
more time and clarification:
• Network graphs/ theory
• XML
• Harvesting services
Recommendations for ACTMalaria/
NCHP/ MAHLAP
• Establish DSpace for Institutional Repository of
ACTMalaria and its partner libraries
• Introduce DSpace or Greenstone for digitized AV materials
of NCHP – Department of Health
• Promote information literacy to ACTMalaria and the
institutional libraries of MAHLAP
