Connecting To The Seattle Area Pipetrades Via
‘VPN’
Only Compatible With Computers
Running
‘Windows XP or Higher’
Setting Up The Connection
This Should Only Have To Be Done
Once Per Computer
1.) Click ‘Start’
2.) Click ‘Run’
3.) Type ‘rasphone’
4.) If you see this screen, click ‘Ok’
(If you do not see this screen, go to the next step)
5.) If you see this screen, click ‘New’
(If you do not see this screen, go to the next step)
6.) Check ‘Connect to a private network
through the internet’ and click ‘Next’
7.) Type
‘vpn.seattlepipetrades.org’ and
click ‘Next’
8.) Type ‘SAP VPN’ and click
‘Next’
9.) Click ‘Properties’
10.) Click The ‘Networking’ Tab &
Click ‘Properties’
11.) Click ‘Advanced’
12.) Uncheck ’Use default gateway on remote network’ & click ‘Ok’
(Please Note: If You Are Using Windows Vista, there is a slight difference in
procedure – You may need to seek advice from an IT Staff Member)
13.) Click ‘Ok’
14.) Click ‘Ok’
15.) Click ‘Connect’ (Make Sure ‘SAP VPN’ is Highlighted from the Drop Down List
16.) Type ‘SAP’ as the Username
Type ‘pipetrades08’ as the Password (All
Lowercase)
Check ‘Save this Username….’
Check ‘Anyone who uses this computer’
Click ‘Connect’
17.) You Should See a Balloon
Next To Your Clock Saying You
Are Connected
You Should Now Be Connected To The VPN
To Disconnect, Follow These Instructions:
18.) Click ‘Start’
19.) Click ‘Run’
20.) Type ‘rasphone’
21.) Click ‘Hang Up’
Use The Next Set Of Instructions To Connect
To The VPN In The Future
Connecting To The VPN
This Should Be Done Once The Initial
VPN Setup Has Been Done
22.) Click ‘Start’
23.) Click ‘Run’
24.) Type ‘rasphone’
25.) Click ‘Connect’ (Make Sure ‘SAP VPN’ is Highlighted from the Drop Down List
26.) Click ‘Connect’
27.) You Should See a Balloon
Next To Your Clock Saying You
Are Connected
You Should Now Be Connected To The VPN
To Disconnect, Follow These Instructions:
28.) Click ‘Start’
29.) Click ‘Run’
30.) Type ‘rasphone’
31.) Click ‘Hang Up’
You Should Now Be Disconnected From The VPN
