SAT and ACT Dates 2010 - 2011

SAT Test Dates

 October 9, 2010 (at DHSHS)  November 6, 2010 (at DHSHS)  December 4, 2010 (at DHSHS)  January 22, 2011  March 12, 2011  May 7, 2011 (at DHSHS)  June 4, 2011

Take the SAT Reasoning if you plan to attend a 4-year university after high school:  SAT Reasoning Test  SAT Subject Tests  Create an account and register at http://sat.collegeboard.com

When to take SAT Tests

 SAT Reasoning - end of your junior year and/or fall of your senior year.

 SAT Subject – take, if you plan to attend a University of California.

You can’t take SAT Subject Tests on the same day that you take the SAT Reasoning.

SAT or ACT ???

 SAT Reasoning has three sections —Reading, Math, and Essay.

 ACT has five sections- English, Math, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing test.

 Either choice, plan to spend about 5 hours on a Saturday morning to take the tests.

 September 11, 2010  October 23, 2010  December 11, 2010 (at DHSHS)  February 12, 2011  April 9, 2011 (at DHSHS)  June 11, 2011

 ACT  ACT Plus Writing  Take ACT at the end of junior year and/or beginning of senior year.

 Register for the ACT at www.actstudent.org

 You will need a copy of your transcript when you are registering so you can fill in all of the classes and grades you have completed during high school.

 Choose which colleges to receive your score reports when you register.

Fee Waivers

• •  Fee waivers are available for ACT and for SAT

if you are on Free & Reduced Lunch Program at DHSHS. You will also need your counselor’s authorization.

If you register with a Fee Waiver, and do not show up to take the test, you will be expected to repay $47 for the waiver.

College Placement Exams

 When registering for the SAT or ACT, be sure you have your test scores sent to 4-year colleges where you apply for admission  C.O.D. uses the “Assessment Test”  Career colleges have their own placement tests
