This meeting is to let students and their
parents know that if students fail required
classes, lose credit due to attendance, do a
senior prank (even a small one), use drugs,
tobacco, or alcohol at school, or during
school activities –including prom- they will
NOT participate in graduation.
 What
is the date and time of Graduation?

Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 4:00p.m.
 What
entrance do parents use at the Palace?
 Please
enter through the West entrance at
the Palace.
 You
may request handicap assistance as you
enter - you will be seated in Section 120.
 What
is the date and time of graduation
practice?
 Graduation
Practice will be on Friday, June
8, 2012 at 8:45 at the Palace.
 Please
leave your home no later than
8:00a.m.
 What
time should students be at the loading
dock for Graduation?
 Students

if a student doesn’t earn 22 credits?
 Students
who walk across the stage at the
Palace are graduates. We do not allow
students who have not earned 22 credits to
attend graduation.
 What
does a green dollar sign on your
envelope mean?
 Students
who owe money can not pick up
their cap and gown until all fees and fines
have been paid.
 What
if a Senior makes a poor decision the
last week of school, at Prom, or the day of
graduation?
 If
students have earned 22 credits they are
graduates and will receive their diploma.
Participating at the Palace is a privilege and
students who make poor decisions can be
excluded from graduation.
 Graduation
is Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 4:00
p.m. at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
 Parents
enter through the west entrance.
You may request handicap assistance as you
enter - you will be seated in Section 120.
 Please
get to the Palace early - gates open
at 3:30p.m.
 Please
do not save seats. Enter with your
entire party so you can all sit together.
 Out
of respect to all of us, please do not
clap and cheer when your student’s name is
called. Do not shout out or blow an air horn.
These behaviors prevent the next student’s
name from being heard. We will clap for all
graduates at the end.
 We
were the only graduation of the four that
had an air horn. Let’s make our graduation
air horn free.
 Graduation
Practice Attendance is
mandatory. Students should enter at the
loading dock by 8:45a.m.
 Graduation
tickets are free. You must have a
ticket to enter. We are asking parents to
pick up tickets tonight. If you need extra
ticket they are available for free in the front
office.
 If
a student does not earn 22 credits they do
not graduate and cannot “just walk” at
graduation. (UCS policy)
 Students
who have not cleared all their
accounts will not receive their diploma until
all money has been paid.


We encourage all students to dress up.
Men in shirts and ties and dress shoes.
Women in a nice outfit or dress.
 We
are asking for no flip-flops, high, high
heels, or gym shoes.
 Please
know that grades and attendance
count the last semester!
 These
grades stay on your official transcript
which is your permanent record for 99 years
after graduation.
 Pass
all your classes!
 Students
who lose credit due to attendance
in a required class or a class needed to earn
22 credits will not graduate.
 No
such thing as a Senior Skip Day. Parents
must call in for an absence to be excused.
Absences not called in are marked
unexcused.
 Students
who disrupt the normal flow of the
school day from this point on could lose their
privilege to participate at Graduation.
 If
you use poor judgment, even if a prank is
small, you will not participate in graduation.
 Cameras
are up and running both inside the
building as well as outside, we have 650
cameras.
 Make
good decisions.
 Prom
is Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the
Palazzo Grande at 25 and Vandyke.
 Doors
open for Prom at 6:30. Students must
be at the prom no later than 7:00. If
students are late, parents will be called and
students may be denied entrance.
 No
student may leave before 10:00p.m.
Prom ends at 11:00.
 No
guest may be older than 19 years old, and
must agree to follow the school rules.
 The
prom is drug, tobacco, and alcohol free
and all school rules apply to our students and
their guests.
Please end the rumor that this is the last
year for an off site prom. We will have an
off site prom next year!

Prom Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, May 8, 2012
at 2:15 in the ECC. Please pay by check.

Try outs for commencement speaker are
Thursday, May 3 at 2:15 in the activities office.

Try outs for Commencement singer are Thursday,
May 3, 2012 at 2:15 in the PAC. Please bring
your CD or accompanist unless you plan to sing a
cappella.
 Honors
Night is Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at
7:00 in the PAC. Students wear their cap and
gown.
 If
you have won an award please fill out the
honors sheet. These sheets need to be filled
out so we know who to invite to honors
night.
 We
have sheets available in the lobby if you
didn’t fill out a sheet prior to the meeting.

We would like you to take a moment and say
thank you to any UCS employee that inspired you
during your 12 plus years in UCS.

Please take a moment and fill out the inspiration
award sheet.
We honor 50 employees during
third hour on May 15, 2012. You will have
chance to read your comments to the employee
and present them with a medal.

Please fill out the inspiration sheets that were in
your packet and leave it with us tonight.
 “Man
in the Mirror”

Every student ends up going to the all night party. Please
purchase your ticket if you haven’t already. They are $70.00

The party organizers are still looking for prize donations so if you
can give a prize, or money, or you can get your company to give
a prize please try to donate; giving away lots of prizes makes it a
great night for our students.

Parents please volunteer to work the All Night Party, or to
decorate the night before. Sign up in the lobby after our
meeting.

The party starts at 10:00p.m. at the school and ends at 5:00a.m.
Thank-you parents for all your hard work on this awesome last
event! If you have questions see Mrs. Chadwick after the
meeting in the lobby.
A
parent and student signature is required to
show attendance at tonight’s meeting.
