Governance
There are three key groups that are involved in the governance of DERI:

Oversight Board
–
Scientific Advisory Board
–
Senior Executive Committee.

The Oversight Board provides governance, guidance and advice to the centre to
ensure that its activities are consistent with its vision, goals and management plan.
•
Representation from NUIG, Industry Partners, other Academic Institutions, other
business representatives, DERI management

DERI Scientific Advisory Board
•
Provides scientific and technical guidance, advice and evaluations on the strategic direction and
performance of DERI.
•
Identifies opportunities and promotes DERI when possible and appropriate.

Represenation from international research bodies. Member of the Board is Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor
of the Internet
DERI Senior Executive Committee (SEC)
•
The SEC ensures the effective running of the CSET operations, including management of the following
activities: Scientific, Administrative, Financial, Business Development, Outreach, Knowledge Transfer,
Human Resources, and Organisational Development, and External Relationships.
•
The SEC’s membership consists of the CEO, Director and Vice Director, and Operations Manager
