Ploughman's lunch

Ploughman's lunch
(lunch ploughboy) is
made available mainly
in pubs. It comprises
bread, cheese (cheddar
often) and adorned
with fresh vegetables
and pickles. Instead of
serving cheese or
sometimes ham pâté.
Roast beef

Roast beef is a
traditional dish for
Sunday lunch. It is
usually given along
with Yorkshire
pudding (spicy baked
with meat), roasted
potatoes and
vegetables. Thick
sauce (gravy) enriches
the taste of meat.
Dover Sole

Dover Sole is
expensive, but
delicious fish, has
close and delicate
meat. Served in the
rings or fillets.
Cumberland sausage

Cumberland sausage is
a regional special.
Served with potatoes
called bangers and
mash.
Pudding

Pudding - Food English with a
consistency constant or
creamy pudding , prepared
usually with flour , milk , eggs
, rice , meat , fish , fat , with
added spices, steamed or
roasted. It can be wrapped in
dough cooked or baked, the
flavor of sweet or salty.
Pudding can be administered
as a main dish (eg, tallow beef
and kidney ) or as a dessert
(with butter , chocolate , etc.).

white pudding , plum pudding
, Yorkshire pudding and
Christmas pudding .
Fish and chips

Fish (cod, haddock,
huss, plaice) deep
fried in flour batter
with chips (fried
potatoes) dressed in
malt vinegar. Fish and
chips are not normally
home cooked but
bought at a fish and
chip shop ("chippie" )
to eat on premises or
as a "take away"
Cottage Pie

Made with minced
beef and vegetables
topped with mashed
potato.
Lancashire Hotpot

A casserole of meat
and vegetables topped
with sliced potatoes.
