Proposal: Add support for little-endian samples
Rationale:
– Modern acquisition system (and processing systems)
mostly uses little-endian CPUs
– Converting to and from big-endian samples costs a lot of
processing time and increases the cost of the systems
– Comment: This only really applies to sample formats
which maps directly to a CPU data type. Formats like 8015
or 8036 will not benefit much.

Technical proposal:

Add new series of sample format codes, e.g. 90xx
9058 = Little-endian 4 byte IEEE float value.

Is this a good idea?
Can this be done as part of current
SEG-D rev 3.0? Or do we need a
format update?
– The latter requires a longer process
