What is a Works Cited Page?
 As you should know, the citations you use inside your
essay shows where you got the information that you
used to support your argument.
 However, in-text citations can only tell you a little bit
of the information about the sources you used.
 Therefore, your Works Cited page serves to tell your
reader all the other information about the sources you
used.
 Why does it matter?? SO YOU DON’T PLAGIARIZE!
Notecards
 First, look through your paper and find the sources that
you used. You should have at least three.
 On each notecard, write down the information you have for
each source.
 Write down all information that you can, including:
 Author
Title
Date
 Website name OR database that you used (Opposing
Viewpoints or Britannica Middle School)
 Use your source pages or your computer’s search history to
help you.
 You should have at least 3 cards and you should have more
than just the title for each source.

What If I Can’t Find the Info?
 You may need to go back and find the article to look
up the information you need. Or, if you need to cite a
book from the library, you can use the database
(Destiny Library Search) to find info on the book
without having to go to the library.
After you have filled out the cards,
 After you have put ALL the information you can from
each source on your notecards, write on the back of
the card what TYPE of source it is:
 Book
 Article from AVL
 News Article from Website
 Website Page
Works Cited Page

the following:
1. Add another page at the end of your document.
2. At the top of the page and in the center type: Works
Cited (11 or 12 point font, Times New Roman or
