Problems / Issues / Concerns

OUR COMMENTS

IR is hard!!

Workload Demands

“Workload only increases”

“A one person office with several significant

responsibilities cannot serve the institution at the level it should”

“ . . Increasing work load . . .”“Breadth of office is 4 times what it was 9 years ago”“one person office”“ . . .especially pressing problem exists for 1 FTE offices as they

are still required to complete mandated projects that larger FTE’s are required to complete”

“Needs have grown exponentially over my career”“We’re being asked to do more”“Too much need. Not enough staff”“. .continual demand for expanded IR services . .”“One person – multiple duties – not enough time . ““increasing demands but no increase in staff”

Data Needs

“Lack of data warehouse and proper data

mining tools”

“Our greatest need is for the development of

a campus data warehouse”

“I’m making very little progress toward data

warehousing”

“SUNY is sitting on a treasure trove of data

that can an should be accessed directly by participating campuses”

Final Comment

“Either data from my office

‘saves the day’

or its

‘wrong’
