Top Tips for year 6 SATs

• Become familiar with the ARA and time-line • Really know your starting points. Analyse last year’s assessments, what areas were stronger and weaker in reading, writing, maths?

• Analyse GPS ability by using a previous paper.

• Don’t focus just on the tests-you and the pupils will be miserable and not perform well • Teach through topics and themes.
