Toyota Prius
Attempts to power hybrid cars
with solar panels is a search
going on for some time. Solar
Electrical Vehicles, Californiabased company, has created the
option of a large solar panel to
be placed on the roof of the
Toyota Prius. The option
consists of monocrystalline
solar cells connected in modules
from 200-300 watts, the
energy obtained from solar
radiation is accumulated in a
separate battery from 3 kW,
capable of delivering up to 32
km of electric mobility every
day.
So, thanks to an energy saving of
about 29%, the initial cost of
installation of 2000/4000 U.S.
dollars can be recovered within 2 / 3
years. The SEV is developing, in
addition, a high-capacity battery
that will add 16 km of autonomy.
