SPAA Name Changed to GCA
and
Cost Sharing:
129XXXX and 149XXXX
-Roberta Elrod,
Grants & Contracts Administration (GCA)
SPAA Name Changed to GCA
• Sponsored Programs Accounting & Administration
(SPAA) formerly reported to Comptroller and was
part of the Division of Financial Affairs
• Effective July 1, 2011, SPAA began reporting to the
Vice President for Research and became part of the
Division of Research
• Department name changed to Grants & Contracts
Administration (GCA) effective July 13, 2011
Cost Sharing:
129XXXX and 149XXXX
•
•
Change in allocation of research infrastructure support (F&A –
indirect return) funding to funds 12 and 14 effective 7/1/11
has prompted change in assigning companion cost share
project numbers
Cost sharing provided by research infrastructure support will
now be set up as follows:
o
o
•
129XXXX projects for PSA
149XXXX projects for E&G
Cost sharing provided by faculty release time will still be
documented in 159XXXX projects
Cost Sharing:
129XXXX and 149XXXX (cont’d)
• Fiscal managers in Grants & Contracts Administration
will request the specific cost share fund group from
the college contact in the e-mail award notification
• If/when a 159XXXX project is no longer needed,
college contacts should notify appropriate fiscal
manager in GCA
Supplemental Funding for
Existing Sponsored Projects
-Stephanie Duncan,
Grants & Contracts Administration (GCA)
Supplemental Funding for Existing
Sponsored Projects
•
•
Effective immediately sponsored projects receiving
supplemental funding with a different F&A rate from the
primary award will be assigned a new project number
Example:
o
NSF funded project with 48.5% MTDC F&A rate receives REU
supplemental funding with a rate of 25% of participant support
stipend. A new project number will now be assigned to the REU
supplement rather than one project number being assigned to both
blocks of funding with an effective F&A rate
