WMB.: Like the Philippian jailer that night, when he
said, "What must I do to be saved?" What will we do?
We tell him what not to do. "You got to quit doing
this, you got to quit going over there. You got to quit
doing this." He never asked what he had to quit
doing, doing. He asked what could he do to be saved?
Right! Paul told in no misunderstanding words, he
said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt
be saved." That's all.
Jn.3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
Jn.3:18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jn.3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he
that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God
abideth on him.
Jn.6:47: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath
everlasting life.
Jn.7:38-39: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out
of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of
the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the
Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet
glorified.)
Jn.1:26: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never
die. Believest thou this?
Jn.12:46: I am come a light into the world, that whosoever
believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
1Jn.5:1: Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of
God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also
that is begotten of him.
1Jn.5:5: Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that
believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
WMB.: "Oh, I believe it." You intellectually believe it. But if you
really believe it, everything in this Bible is yours.
WMB.: See, so many a revivals are going across the country and
people are claiming to be saved, and great evangelists saying they
had so many thousands saved and so forth. And then you go back
and find out those people don't stay. They just an emotion in the
meeting, and their worked away. Many people in the meeting raise
up and claim healing and walk away, more by emotion or more by
psychic than they do by real Divine revelation of the Lord Jesus.
WMB.: Stop thinking about whether "I should do this or do that?"
I'm asking you one solid thing: Have you believed on the Lord
Jesus Christ? If you truly believe, I'll prove by the Bible that you
have Everlasting Life and cannot perish. "He that heareth My
Words, and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Everlasting Life."
John 2:23-24: Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover,
in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw
the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself
unto them, because he knew all men,
The words believed in John 2:23 and commit in John 2:24 are
the same Greek word. These people believed in Jesus, but He
did not believe (put His trust or confidence) in them!
It was one thing to respond to a miracle but quite something
else to commit oneself to Jesus Christ and continue in His
Word.
Acts 8:35-37: Then Philip opened his mouth, and
began at the same scripture, and preached unto
him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they
came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said,
See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be
baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all
thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and
said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
True believing is:
The act of considering Jesus worthy of trust as to His
character and motives.
The act of placing confidence in His ability to do just
what He says He will do.
The act of entrusting the salvation of one’s soul into
the hands of the Lord Jesus.
Mark 10:8-9: And they twain shall be one flesh: so
then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What
therefore God hath joined together, let not man put
asunder.
1 Cor 11:8-9: For the man is not of the woman; but
the woman of the man. Neither was the man created
for the woman; but the woman for the man.
Rom.12:3: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to
every man that is among you, not to think of himself more
highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according
as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Eph 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any
man should boast.
Acts13:48: And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad,
and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were
ordained to eternal life believed.
Ordain: to assign to a place, to appoint, to determine.
John 10:25-27: Jesus answered them, "I told you,
and you do not believe. The works that I do in My
Father's name, they bear witness of Me. But you
do not believe, because you are not of My sheep,
as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I
know them, and they follow Me.
John 18:37: Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king
then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king.
For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come
into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.
Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."
2Thess.2:13: But we are bound to give thanks to God
always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because
God from the beginning chose you for salvation through
sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he
power to become the sons of God, even to them that
believe on his name:
1Thess.2:13: For this reason we also thank God without
ceasing, because when you received the word of God
which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the
word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which
also effectively works in you who believe.
Gal.3:2: Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive
the [Holy] Spirit as the result of obeying the Law and
doing its works, or was it by hearing [the message of the
Gospel] and believing [it]? [Was it from observing a law of
rituals or from a message of faith?]
