Total length of road in State is 1,07,436 km.
Village connectivity 80% against 68% (All-India)
Road density 53.31 km per 100 sq.km against
national average 102.92 km.
Expansion of road network is priority area for
State. Proposed to upgrade connectivity of 3389
villages from gravel road to BT costing Rs.2000cr.
Conditions of State and district roads to be
improved in 15106 kms. Only 3414 km length is 2
lane out of total 18484km.
Renewal in 20,000km rural road is proposed with
estimated cost Rs.1258 cr.
TOTAL REQUIREMENT OF
FUNDS – GAP (2010-15)

State allotted Rs. 633.33 cr. for road sector and
Rs.213.08 cr. for building sector on recommendation of
12 FC. Shall be fully utilised.
