HUNGARY, 28 SEPT-2 OCT
On September 28, two teachers from our school (Isabel Cabrera and Isabel
Antúnez) went to Hungary to the first meeting of the Comenius Project “SO
DIFFERENT AND SO ALIKE. EVERYBODY NEEDS A CHANCE…”
This 1st meeting took place in Nyiregyhaza, a city in
the North-east of Hungary and the county capital of
Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.
With a population of 117,000 it is the seventh-largest
city in Hungary and is one of the leading cities of
Northern Hungary and of the northern part of the
Great Hungarian Plain.
Ten teachers from Turkey, Polland, Romania, Portugal and Spain met the
Hungarian team to discuss the development of the Project: arrange dates for
meetings, decide number of students and teachers in the visits and the tasks and
activities each country will develop during the next two years…
As you can image, we all spoke english!! That’s the official language of the
Project.
The 1st day, after a hard working session, students from the Széchenyi István School
showed us their school …

They had also prepared a short walk along their nice town…
The 2nd day, after another working session, we went to visit the zoo. The zoo lies in a
natural, almost untouched birch forest. In the 30 ha of the zoo the visitors can walk
along to observe how the animals live in certain parts of the world. They are very
proud of the zoo.

Not very scientific, don’t you think?
The 3rd and last day, we spent the whole day in a trip trough the county. We went to a
