The Mighty Creatives
East Midlands bridge organisation
The young people’s locally
based arts and culture
programme
The bridge
The Mighty Creatives is part of a national network of bridge organisations,
funded by Arts Council England (ACE) to use our experience and expertise
to connect children and young people, schools and communities with art
and culture.
ACE Goal 5: Every child and young
person has the opportunity to
experience the richness of the arts
and culture
The bridge organisation embraces a broad definition of arts and culture,
including museums, libraries, heritage and film.
What is it?
The young people’s locally based culture programme provides
investment opportunities for the development of locally based
partnerships which put young people at the heart of shaping
arts and cultural programmes in their community
Partnerships will use arts and culture to
meet the needs of young people and address
local issues
Why?
TMC Bridge organisation sees children
and young people at the
heart of their communities, using their
creativity to do the things they love and
take action on the issues they care about
Investing in locally based partnerships will:
• enable local organisations to pool expertise, knowledge and
resources to best meet the needs of young people
• support the sector to come together and work with others to
‘champion’ the lifetime benefits of participation in arts and
culture
Who?
The programme will target communities with low level
engagement.
The first round of investment will focus on:
• Nine priority places
• Four priority groups of children and young people
Our investment is for local organisations in the arts and
cultural sector and other organisations who use arts and
culture in their work
What sort of activity?
Activities must prioritise young people’s leadership and
include the development of :
• Arts Award
• Artsmark
Other than that, we aim to be flexible in the sorts of
activities we will invest in to allow local partnerships to
work with young people to shape what best meets
their needs
