• Magellan was killed in
the year 1521 in April
at Zebu Philippines .
• He served in the 1504
navy with honors.
• In 1513 he was
charged with dishonest
handling of money
and thrown out.
Magellan sets sail
• Magellan set sail for
his voyage on August ,

• Magellan was the one
that found out that the
world was round.
The Voyage
Magellan’s voyage was
sponsored by the king
of Spain.
The voyage took about
three years.
• Magellan and his three
great ships sailed into
an ocean, which he
named the Pacific.
• Magellan and his three
ships landed on Cuba
on April 7th.
• During the voyage
when no food was to
be found they had to
eat sawdust, rats,
wormy biscuits,
leather, and drink
spoiled water.
• He discovered the
strait of Magellan.
• Magellan started his
voyage with 240 men,
and 5 ships, 18 men
returned with 1 ship.
• It took Magellan and
his crew 38 days to
sail from the Atlantic
to the Pacific.
• Ferdinand Magellan
named the Pacific
Ocean for its calm
waters.
• Magellan was one of
the first to sail the
Pacific Ocean.
