● At "home" or "away" cheerleaders must display
proper conduct
Each cheerleader is expected to maintain good moral
behavior- no hickeys, no public displays of affection
Wearing the uniform=representing Neuqua Valley!
● NVHS Cheerleaders are important representatives of
our school and are very visible to everyone!
● "Disrespect to any member of the cheerleading staff
will result in immediate dismissal from the squad,
practice, season or game at the discretion of the
cheerleading staff. Inappropriate behavior and
defiance will NOT be tolerated."

ESPONSIBILITIES
Each cheerleader is required to maintain good grades.
Has to be able to balance academics/extra curricular.
We practice daily and over winter break. We also
practice a few times during finals week.
●Coaches get a print out every week
Have to be passing at least five classes
Two weeks ineligible= contract for two weeks or
removal from team
● Athlete must be in class at least four periods in order
to participate in the nightly activities
●It is the parent’s responsibility to contact coach if your
child will be absent. Coaches do not get daily attendance.

Cheerleading is a HUGE time commitment!

● Practices will be broken down into specific
segments working all areas of scoresheet and will
include core conditioning, running, and weight
training

Workshops/Clinics:
GOLD BUILDING
The coaching staff will hold workshops prior to tryouts
GIrls can work on stunting, jumps, motions, and tumbling.
The dates for these clinics are: April 21, 22nd and 29th
April 21st- 4 to 6
April 22nd-5 to 7
April 29th-4 to 6
Clinic will be held at GOLD building in either the main gym from 4 to 6
pm. Not mandatory but HIGHLY encouraged
The workshops are $10 per day. Checks can be made out to
WILDCAT CHEER
●What to wear: Navy cheer shorts and a white t-shirt
●Appropriate shoes, hair up in pony with bow.

●Cheer (motion technique, voice, and crowd interaction)
●Dance (rhythm and facials)

●Stunting (flexibility in air, proper basing techniques, elite entries for stunts)

Coaches will not be discussing try-out results until Monday, May 11th after
2:45
If you would like to discuss why your child did not make a team, we can
only offer you suggestions for the improvement for next years try-out.
Athletes may not make the team due to their character evaluations. Those
are not shared.
★ Spots are not guaranteed for returning members. Every year we have
someone that gets moved down.

What to Bring to Try-outs

*THREE envelopes sealed and signed
character assessment. Won’t take if not
sealed.
*If you have previously cheered for Neuqua,
your coach will fill out two assessments for you
●*CURRENT grade print out
●*Constitution signed

After our "cheer" families
are picked…
Athletes will attend an ice-cream social at
the Gold Building at 3:45pm on May 12th.
A parent meeting will take place on May
12th at the GOLD BUILDING at 5:30pm.
●A check for $200 will be collected to cover
the NVHS athletic fee
●Any physicals that will expire during the
season will need to be renewed previous to
the date they will expire to ensure the athlete
will not miss any events-TURN ALL

Squad Selection:
You are choosing to join Neuqua Valley Cheer program.
Based on tryout scores and our needs, the coaching staff will
put you where we know you will fit and succeed
