Our partners
•
Tearfund has been using Poimapper for
monitoring of maternal care of clients with HIV.
•
Nimbus are the key partners in the monitoring of maternal care of
clients with HIV project with Tearfund
•
Plan Thailand, Plan Laos and Plan India have chosen to adopt Poimapper
for the monitoring and evaluation of their programs. A typical case example
is for mHealth programs, tracking the spread of tuberculosis in

Case study (Tearfund)
• Pregnant women with HIV have a high risk for transmitting the disease
the child. Mother Buddies visit the pregnant women (the clients)
according to a predefined schedule to monitor their health
and give advice.
• The pregnant women receive SMS reminders from the
Poimapper application notifying them of an upcoming visit.
• Mother buddies update information regarding the clients during the visits.

Case study (Tearfund)
• Team leaders for the mother buddies, managers or
organizations employing the mother buddies, public
officials, the NGO running the operation (Tearfund)
at country and head office level follow the progress
made by the mother buddies.
• The solution was launched in Malawi in December
2012 and is being deployed Nigeria, Kenya and
DRC during 2013.

Volunteers/Migrant Health Volunteers (MHV) to do
Directly Observed Treatment (DOT) provision and/or
treatment for TB care, including TB suspect referral.

Outlook
• Challenges faced:
– Unexpected handset behavior: Depending on the android handset, sometimes
the application can crash unexpectedly (only on the low end handsets).
– Network coverage: In the rural, network coverage is really scarce in some
areas.
– Power unavailability: In some areas access to power supply is very limited.

Outlook
• Poimapper is suitable for development programs focusing on topics
such as health, education and agriculture as well as for commercial use
such as installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment
