2013, Symplectic Elements

still shows the same
key information
The ‘Pending Publications’
alert is at the top of the
screen
‘My Publications’ shows how
many pending and
claimed publications you
have, by type
‘My Repository Status’ shows
how many of your claimed
publications have been
uploaded to Imperial’s
repository
‘My Professional Activities’
shows how many of each
activity you have entered,
for inclusion on your PWP
Some extra navigation links have
been added on the left-hand side
To return to the Home Page at any
time, click on the Home Icon
on the top left of the Screen
How to Claim and
Reject publications
in version 4.2
Click on the ‘Pending
Authored Publications’
hyperlink
The new ‘Pending’ tab shows
how many publications
are available for review
Switch between ‘Compact
View’ and ‘Detailed View’,
as desired
Click on a publication name
to view its full details
Click on the new ‘Back’
Icon
to return to the
previous page
To claim a publication, click on
the Tick Icon
To reject a publication, click
on the Cross Icon
Managing and depositing
your claimed publications
The new ‘Mine’ tab shows
how many publications
have been claimed by you
Click on the new ‘Upload’ Icon
to add a full text copy to
the repository
When uploading a file,
remember to specify
the version type
Managing your Search Settings
If you find that Symplectic is not
picking up your publications, you
can update your personal search
settings as follows…
On the Home Page, locate
and click the ‘My Search
Settings’ box
Here you can specify key
information such as:
- Variants of your name
- Your other places of work
- Your Researcher ID
- Other relevant information
