Steel arch structure, including bearings & concrete deck 5 Case Study #2 How Arch Issue Was Resolved 6 Deteriorated structural steel was removed and replaced, with details matching original. Bearings were removed and replaced. Concrete deck was removed and replaced Precast concrete panels Cast-in-place concrete surface Case Study #2 2. Metal Railings 7 Case Study #2 How Railing Issue Was Resolved 8 Railings were removed from bridge and delivered to a fabrication shop. New finials were added and made larger to fill the openings. Edges were welded to uprights. Railings were painted and reinstalled. Case Study #2 3. Stone facing on abutments 9 Case Study #2 How Stone Facing Issue Was Resolved 10 Missing stones were replaced with matching stones. Entire abutments were tuckpointed, with color to match existing. All surfaces were gently cleaned to remove moss and dirt. Case Study #2 4. Lion Statues 11 Case Study #2 How Lion Statue Issue Was Resolved 12 110 year old statues were in good condition with minimal graffiti. Cleaning used a gentle process with water and light power wash.
