It is very important to be on time to school! Our classroom is open at 7:15.

Strikes

: Strikes will be filled out by students and are an opportunity for the student to reflect on the behavior and allow for teacher and parent communication. Strikes can be given for breaking school or class rules. They can also be given for late work. At the end of the nine weeks students who have 8 or fewer strikes will be allowed to attend the grade level behavior reward party.

OMEWORK

 Unfinished CLASS WORK must be returned the following day. If not, the student will not go out for recess and attend study hall to finish his/her work.

 Read EVERY night, practice math facts, spelling words, and vocabulary words.

 You can find sites to help practice your math skills or any other skills on the school website. I will attach their login information to the front of the agendas.

 Graded work will be sent home in a folder on Monday afternoon.  Please review and discuss the grades with your child.  Sign and make any comments as needed.  Suggestion - have your child make corrections so they can learn from their mistakes

 Snacks : Healthy foods and water ONLY!

 Money: Send all money into school in an envelope and label what it is for, their name, and the teacher’s name.  Medicine: All medicine MUST be checked into the nurse by a parent. If you would like your child to receive Tylenol, Benadryl, etc. you must provide that to the nurse as well.

 Our classroom time is important, so please leave items in the office for them.

 Projects   Some projects are completed AT school, other projects have parts completed AT school AND home. You will have PLENTY of notice of project due dates.

 Field Trips   Third grade will have 2 field trips - one in the fall and one in the spring. The fall field trip will have a limited amount of chaperones; however, the spring field trip will have an unlimited number of chaperones .

 Birthdays – You may send in treats to share with the class. We will celebrate during lunch or recess. Invitations should be sent to all students or none.

 Absentees- All work is due within 5 days after the student returns to school. Please make sure you send in a note for all absences. We cannot accept notes written in the agenda.  Agendas- Please sign it every night!  Cursive – We will begin cursive this week. I usually require their spelling to be done in cursive once we learn all the lowercase letters.

Multiplication Tests  40 questions in 4 minutes  are cumulative  will be taken on Friday  test will be given throughout the year
