SPECIFIC MINISTRY PASTOR
TRAINING
• Concordia Seminary St. Louis and Concordia
Theological Seminary Ft. Wayne began classes in
September 2009. Thirty eight (38) students
enrolled.
• Interest has been demonstrated by four men in the
Nebraska District.
• No applications in Nebraska at this
time.
Lay Leadership Program
– Classroom and on-line training by Concordia University professors
and District pastors for those who have been identified by their
pastors to assist their pastors in specific lay roles:
• Youth ministry, new member assimilation, visitation, outreach
organization, etc.
– Pre-Specific Ministry Pastor class
preparation to apply for the Seminaries’
programs
- Classes to be offered to help pastors train lay leaders for
congregational renewal are being developed.

• A joint effort by LCMS World Relief and Human Care and
LCMS World Mission--Ministry to the Armed Forces to
equip congregations to support National Guard and
Reserve Military personnel.

helping reserve soldiers with their
return from war.

• This position is currently vacant and will be filled as soon as
possible
– Finance Office Bookkeeper reduced to 19 hours and no
benefits

Fan into Flame
Nebraska District
• Gifts returning to the Nebraska District thus far
as part of the Fan into Flame campaign are
$136,302.14.
• The gifts are being used for new work to help
revitalize congregations, provide loans for new
church starts, provide Lutheran education
scholarships, and assist the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Sudan. All praise to God!
