Within the youthwork sector there has been a
greater emphasis on accrediting youthwork
interventions across Scotland over the past 5
years.
With an increase in the levels of participation
in:
 Duke of Edinburgh Award
 Youth Achievement
 Dynamic Youth
 ASDAN Programme
 SQA Modules
 Saltire Awards

With this growth there has been key
challenges in relation to :
 The upskilling of the workforce
 The cost and the infrastructure to deliver
and accredit the awards
 Performance Culture
 Buy in from young people
 Managing stakeholder perceptions
 Evidence base and research

Impact of Increased Accreditation in
Youthwork
 Greater recognition of the importance
of wider achievements in relation to
skills for life, learning and work
 An improvement in inspection grades in
relation to 2.1
 Improved national recognition through
key policies and strategic drivers of the
CLD / Youthwork contribution
