Who is BCI Technologies?
• BCI Technologies was established in 1990 serving the
PC based SCADA industry
• We started serving the Power industry for Substation
Automation in 1994 mainly through ABB.
• Developed Power RICH System in 1997 that was
marketed through ABB until 2007.
• Power RICH System Enterprise Edition introduced in
2005
• 2007 BCI stared to market Power RICH System
Enterprise Edition to Customers through it’s own
representatives
• 2007 hired Dr. Jay Park as Product Manager
– 15 years with ABB, 10 years as Power RICH System Manager

charge, so End-User can modify the system themselves
- Single point of configuration for whole system
- On-line development - NO COMPILING or shutting down
• SCADA database is object oriented & this saves 75-90%
development effort over traditional systems
• A change in thinking, you start configuration by mimicking

• Alarms are configured as attributes on any point object

Alarm Redirection
• Alarm redirection supports business rules to
ensure the right user(s) are alerted at the right
time when critical events occur in the system
• The trigger condition is generally an alarm;
– Individual Alarm,
– Alarm group (any IED or Feeder alarm),
– Severity level (High or Severe Alarms only)
• If after a predefined time delay the condition has
not cleared or been acknowledged, a notification
will be sent to the user via email, or pager

• Report templates are developed using industry
standard 'Crystal Reports'.
• Report development & viewing is directly
embedded in the ViewX client.
• Report templates & generated reports are
managed by Power RICH System Server

historic Reports

Email, PDF, HTML, Excel, CSV, SQL Export.

• What is the difference between a Point and Tag?
• A tag generally refers to a single I/O reference or register in
