If you don’t know how to use a tool, ask a
mentor to teach you
Don’t hang around the workshop or pit if
you don’t have something to do
Proper Lifting Technique
Lift with your legs, not your back
Communicate with other lifters to
establish how you will lift and where you
want to go
Keep your back straight
Don’t twist your body- use your feet if
you have to
Use proper handholds- make sure you
have a stable grip before you start
Proper Lifting Technique

bend at the knees”

Plan your work before you start
Know how to use the tool properly!
When others are using power tools, don’t
distract them

Batteries
Any battery that looks damaged is unsafe to use
Contain sulfuric acid- it will burn your skin on

that could cause the battery to explode
Pick up the batteries by the case, not the wires
