ZENZELE COMMUNITY ROAD MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME
1.
The aim of this programme is to implement a road maintenance programme, which induces the maximum
employment of local communities, whereby, empowerment and poverty alleviation together with an acceptable
standard of road maintenance can be achieved.
2.
Main Objectives:
a. To create long term job creation for community members.
b. To lower the level of unemployment in the community by engaging them into the road maintenance
programme.
c. To identify and develop small businesses in the community.
d. To uplift the community by providing them with the infrastructure that they require.
e. To improve the conditions of existing roads infrastructure by routine and periodic maintenance.
f. To improve the skills and educate the youth, women, men and challenge individuals of the community so
that they can improve their quality of life.
g. To transfer skills and provide training for the community involved in the programme.
