With the new media icon in the visual editor, instructors and students
have three media embedding options including: adding a URL for a
photo, or video, or embed code for any type of media that can be
viewed directly in the post; eliminating the need for attachments or
leaving the discussion to view media.

Auto Save – Active Automatic saves within threaded discussions solves
a problem faced by students and professors when creating threaded
discussions, specifically losing unsaved responses due to issues such as
a browser crashes, system timeouts, or any unexpected/accidental
closures of the browser.
Hide Topics – Active Instructors now have the ability to post a
discussion in advance and hide topics from students until it’s time for
the assignment.
Improved Interface – Dec 15 Improved user experience for students
and faculty. In course mode, students will see a whole new look and
feel. The tools have icons and the workflows have been optimized. All
of the improvements identified in the screens below were designed to:
save time, improve usability, and provide at-a-glance views to quickly
navigate threaded discussions.

QTI Exam Package Upload - With this release, instructors can upload WPS,
TestGen and Respondus packages in QTI format using the exam authoring tools.
The Exam Package Upload tool will be available as a new button next to the
Content, Tools, and Test banks buttons in Exams.
Randomized Distractors - Leading up to this release, multiple choice (MC) and
many multiple choice (MMC) question types presented the answer/distractors
in a fixed order which can lead to cheating. With this release, the
answers/distractors can be presented in a random order for each
student. Instructor controls are found in the tool box.
Display Previous Answers when Retaking Multi-Take Exams
Prior to this release, when retaking a multi-take exam all questions displayed as
unanswered. This enhancement provides an option to display student answers
to the questions from the previous attempt. Instructor controls are found in
the tool box.
