 Your Chapter’s own strategic plan should focus on the following
goals:

◦ Deliver quality education and create opportunities for information exchange
◦ Develop and promote security standards and certifications while espousing
ethics
◦ Advocate for ASIS International an the profession to key audiences
◦ Perpetuate the strength of ASIS International
Reporting Functions
• Ensure the Chapter Officer Questionnaire is submitted by Dec. 10th.
• ASIS HQ uses this document to update its records annually and grant access to the restricted
areas of the ASIS Website.
• The Chapter Officer Questionnaire is available through the ASIS Website
http://www.asisonline.org/membership/forms/chapterquestionnaire.pdf
• Each month you must ensure that a Chapter Activity Report is submitted by
the chapter.
• This report should be submitted by the Chapter Secretary within 24 hours of
the monthly meeting conclusion.
• In addition to the monthly report the chapter is required to file a yearly
financial/audit report with ASIS HQ. This report is due to HQ no later than 3
months after the end of the calendar year. See Chapter Financial Handbook for
additional details
• Each chapter is also required to filed an IRS 990-N form with the Internal
Revenue Service. See Chapter Financial Handbook for additional details
Annual Programming
 Very simply annual programming is preparing to have
meetings of value.
 A minimum of six meetings must be held each year, one
chapter fundraiser or seminar, and a special program like
the Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner.
 ASIS Webinars, either live or recorded, are a great way to
add value to a chapter meeting.

Chapter Membership Roster
• ASIS HQ Staff will provide the chapter with periodic chapter roster updates.
• These updates will be sent directly to the chapter chair via e-mail.
• The updates will include new members, members transferred in to the chapter, members transferred
out the chapter, and individuals whose membership has been placed on hold.
• Chapter officers can obtain a complete chapter membership roster at any time by
sending an e-mail request to ASIS HQ Staff at
[email protected].
• Chapter Chairpersons are authorized to request chapter rosters only for their specific chapter. If other
chapter rosters are requested, the Regional Vice President, in the region where the other chapter is
located, must approve this request in writing to ASIS HQ. All such requests will indicate the purpose
for which a multiple chapter roster will be used.
Certification
• ASIS International has set the standards for certification in
security for more than 25 years. Certification plays an
important role in the security industry by identifying high
professional standards.
• A great way to get members involved in the chapter is to host
a certification study group or review program.
• ASIS International offers chapters a discount on the
Certification Study Guides.
