Short history of TPU
The university was based in 1896. It is the
first technical institute in Tomsk. It has a
very big history of development and
changed several names:
Tomsk technologic institute;
Tomsk industrial institute;
Tomsk polytechnic institute;
Tomsk polytechnic university.
Since Tomsk Polytechnic University was
founded, it prepared thousands specialists
of different fields.
