Presentation of the LENNERTS & PARTNER GmbH



The headquarter of the LENNERTS & PARTNER
GmbH with 18 employees is situated at Coburg
(Germany).
LENNERTS & PARTNER was founded in 1990 and
resulted from a project for Siemens. At this time a
software was developed to check the power of traction
for produced cables.
Soon this project should be completed and on the
occasion of a student party contacts with the manager
of a rebar shop were established. So we decided to
develop and also to distribute a software solution for
the reinforcement industry.

More than 350 installations in 33 countries The
customers of the LENNERTS & PARTNER GmbH are
structured as follows:
– Pure rebar shops which only use LP-SYSTEM.
– Steel traders which carry on a rebar shop and which
are communicating with its steel trading software via
interface.
– Precast companies which are producing for its own
production but also sometimes supply steel to
construction sites. In precast companies very often
the advantages of the BVBS import are used. Here
the reinforcing data can be imported from an own
CAD software without having to create them again
manually.

The commercial module of LP-SYSTEM manages
main data like products, customers, shape code
catalogue, price lists and so on.
The shape code catalogue will be supplied with
approx. 200 shape codes and can be expanded very
easily on one’s own.
In the commercial module the projects with its
schedules and barmarks (steel, mesh, accessories)
are created and managed.
With the basic module all functions are available which
are necessary for a rebar shop to make production
(tag printing) and to create delivery notes and invoices.
The schedules can be summarized to a delivery unit
and a cargo planning can be made.

LP-SYSTEM has also the function to create/manage
structural elements.
By means of interfaces also reinforcing data can be
imported from external systems. These can come from
a CAD program or can be read in via the BVBSinterface (e. g. Nemetschek). But also the import of
Bamtec/Spinmaster data is possible.
The basic module has two workstation licences which
are embedded in a Microsoft-network. A Microsoft SQL
data base is used which is open to other systems via
ODBC-interface.

Beside the basic module there are various additional
modules. These are for example:
– Import/export of schedules into other subsidiaries
– Purchase module
– Import of reinforcement data from a CAD via
BVBS-interface (e. g. Nemetschek)
– Import of Bamtec/Spinmaster data
– Graphical printout of mesh optimization

Technical Module LP-SYSTEM


The technical module of LP-SYSTEM registers all
machines and its technical parameters. To guarantee
an exact allocation of the barmarks to the right
machines, this is not enough for us. In addition
‘production lines’ are created. Here machines which
are allowed to work physically together are combined
with each other according to logistic and production
technical criteria.
As it happens very often that one barmark can be
produced on one or more machines respectively
production lines, priorities are created in the system.
The priorities clear up for each steel diameter which
machine shall be used first. If this machine cannot
produce the barmark, the machine with the next
priority will be selected.

Beside the automatic allocation of all barmarks to the
machines the production planner uses the system in
special in order to make delivery units. One or more
contracts can be allocated to one delivery unit. Within
such a delivery unit the optimization then will be made.
On the one hand a bar cutting optimization is made for
all bar cutting machines, on the other hand the
barmarks of all coil machines are sorted for each
machine so that there will be no sorting of the tags
after printing.

In the next step all machines can be downloaded.
This can be made either via

Online-downloading or
Offline-downloading.



For the online downloading the data on the machine
are called up via barcode and then transferred from
a PC to the machine via cable or wireless.
The offline downloading is working without
connection to the machine as the barcode (PDFbarcode) already includes all data which are required
for downloading.

In the final step it is possible to find out via data
summary:
– Who has produced which item at what time
– on which machine and
– how long did it take?

On the other side it is possible to see on the screen
whether a schedule has already been completely
produced in order for example to inform customer
accordingly by phone. By means of a statistics data for
an output related payment also can be gathered.

The system allows you to answer recurring questions
for example:
– What is the current degree of utilization of the
machines?
– When and for which machines does capacity
overload occur?
– Which production time has (had) an order?
– Who produced the separate items of the orders?
– In which state of production is a certain order?
– Which diameters have I produced in the period
XYZ in which quantity?
– Which day’s production did I have on day XYZ?
– Is my machine capacity sufficient for the planned
production?
– In which state of production is the item?

These questions have a big influence on the planning
and controlling of the processes in rebar shops.
The answers to these questions allow a permanent
overview of the production.

Software Solution LP-LabelMaster

LabelMaster is a program enabling the management of
master data from the reinforcement industry as well as
entering of schedules and steel lists (BBS).

It is possible to print steel lists, tags and possibly
cutting lists for the schedules.

Then the entered bar marks can be transferred directly
to the machines.

The program is structured modularly and thus an
optimal adaption to customer’s requirements is
possible.
