 EPP means
“products or services that have a lesser or
reduced effect on human health and the
environment when compared with
competing products or services that serve
the same purpose.”
 EPP is one of over 70 programs in the
city's Sustainability Report

Why Use EPP Products?
 Recycled Aluminum Cans:
–95% less energy than virgin cans
 Energy Star Computers & Monitors:
–Purchasing over 3,000 energy efficient
computers reduced greenhouse gases equivalent
to removing 168 cars (2007 Green Electronics
Champion)
 Less Toxic Cleaning Products:
–Reduces health risks to janitorial staff and
building occupants while protecting the
environment.
EPP Products Include:
Recycled content products (e.g.
recycled plastic furniture, carpet)
Energy conserving products such as
fluorescent lights
Less toxic products, such as
cleaners
Bio-based products, such as inks
