• 40 words or more should be a block quote with no

• Less than 40 words use double quote marks.

continue sentence.

TABLES
• Tables are numbered consecutively in the order in which
they are first mentioned
• Refer to tables by number, not as “the table above” or
“the following table”
• Table Titles should be placed on top of tables
• Number tables with Arabic numerals
• Double-space
• Use horizontal rather than vertical lines within tables
• Capitalize the initial letter of the principled words
and italicize the title

• Figures are numbered consecutively in the order in

• Each figure must have a caption that includes the
figure number:

Punctuation
• Periods and commas should be placed within the quote marks;
semicolons and colons go outside
Block

• Do not use horizontal and vertical lines together

should be lowercased
• Every table should be numbered with an Arabic
numeral and given a title
• Reference the table by number not by phrase
